Three public performances promise laughs for all ages, May 13-15
Bangor, ME–Penobscot Theatre Company’s Dramatic Academy proudly presents Fantastic Mr. Fox, Roald Dahl’s classic tale of a bodacious, bushy-tailed husband and father with a casual approach to property lines. Fox’s charm is as irrepressible as his hunger for fresh chickens, which is why audiences will cheer as he outfoxes his miserable neighbors. Performances will be May 13 and 14 at 4:30 pm and May 15 at 11:30 am at the Bangor Opera House.
“With his unyielding commitment to family and friends and daring acts of bravery, Mr. Fox has stolen our hearts,” says Director of Education Amy Roeder, who is directing the youth production. “We have had great fun bringing to life all the burrowing animals in Fox’s world–badgers, rabbits, moles and weasels–and experimenting with the fine art of slapstick comedy in portraying the farmers everyone loves to hate, Boggis, Bunce and Bean.”
Twenty-five young performers comprise the cast, ranging in age from 4 to 15, including: Madeline Allen, Lily K. Barrington, Austin Beaulieu, Thea Bowden, Kaitlyn Carreira, Sophia Crespo, Viola Davis, Ethan Dudley, Ian Eskesen, Rebekah Friedman, Connemara Geaghan, Kai Grosjean, Nevaeh Howell, Maia Johnson, Cami Layman, Nathan Manaker, Sophia Merchan, Paige Napolillo, Inanna Piccininni, Gwyneth Ravenscraft, Joseph Rutledge, Chloe Sarnacki, Lilie Sites, Luke Sites and Claire Thompson.
Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults. Discounted rates are available for groups. To purchase, call (207) 942-3333 or visit www.penobscottheatre.org.
