Penobscot Theatre Company is making magic once again with its holiday production of Cinderella: A New Telling of an Old Tale! Audiences and reviewers are loving the show and it is selling out FAST! We want you to have the inside scoop, so here you will find audience comments, links to reviews, as well as our “secret stash” of pictures. Consider it a little early holiday present from us to you!
Kids and adults alike are loving the show! This week, over 400 students will come from local area schools to attend student matinees. The holiday show at PTC often features young performers as well, many of whom are participants in PTC’s Educational Programming “Dramatic Academy.” Did you know Stephanie Colavito (Cinderella), Logan Bard (Dandini/Bear), Charlie Hanscom (Knickers/Bear), Molly Hagerty (Puffy), Zivi Osher (Lucille), Kate Fogg (Duffy) are all Dramatic Academy students? Also amongst the sheep are youth performers Bronwyn Beardsley (Fluffy) and Abigail Thompson (Muffy). The cast also features PTC Director of Education Jasmine Ireland (BoPeep) and teaching artists Ben Layman (Regan Rotten) and Arthur Morison (Baron Hardup)!
The cast also includes LOTS of local actors! University of Maine (Margo Lukens, Dominick Varney, Ira Kramer), Bangor Hydro (Bob Potts), and Husson University (Christie Robinson) are just a few of the diverse backgrounds from which this talented group of performers is drawn.
This show is based in “British Panto,” a European holiday tradition. Listen to what our Artistic Director Bari Newport had to say about this in a Post by FOX ABC Maine.
