PTC’s family holiday production of Cinderella: A New Telling of an Old Tale opens this weekend!

Cinderella: A New Telling of an Old Tale is an enormously entertaining and irreverent comedy that delights in crossing barriers, including the one between audience and actors. Cinderella: A New Telling of an Old Tale, is full of witty and crafty language and in true fairy tale fashion, there is of course, a happy ending. In this joyous, magical, musical holiday production, goodness triumphs, evil is banished from the Kingdom, the Prince gets his girl–and the girl gets her shoes.  Just in time for the holidays, this whimsical take on a classic story is the perfect fit for audiences of all ages!

Local actress Stephanie Colavito will star as Cinderella December 5 – 29th.

Previews for the holiday will be performed on December 5th & 6th at 7 p.m.  The official opening night of the show will take place on December 7th at 7 p.m. On this night  the audience is invited to stay for hot chocolate, candy canes, a chance to meet the cast, and for kids of all ages to have their picture taken with Santa Claus!  Tickets can be purchased online at or by calling the Box Office at 942-3333.

Nathan Halvorson, Director and Choreographer of Cinderella: A New Telling of an Old Tale to hold Master Class

In anticipation of opening night, Director and Choreographer Nathan Halvorson (Frog and Toad, Forever Plaid, A Christmas Story, and many more!)  will offer a Master Class in Dance and Choreography for Musical Theater.  Cinderella will mark Nathan’s  28th show at PTC! Teens and adults of all skill levels are welcome to register for  this opportunity to discover what it takes to stage a song and learn a few new dance moves! This class will be held December 7th from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Take the class, have some lunch, hit the parade and then come to the show. Director of Education – Amy Roeder is pleased to be joining the staff at PTC. Amy received her BFA in theatre from the University of Evansville and her Master of Fine Arts in acting from The University of Georgia. She recently relocated to Bangor from Chicago where she taught and performed with famed comedy institution The Second City. Local audiences may have seen her onstage with Improv Acadia in Bar Harbor where she has been a company member since 2005. Amy has performed all over the country including at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park and with the Improv Asylum in Boston. In addition to teaching acting and improvisation classes all over the world, Amy is also designs and facilitates workshops in improvisational techniques for businesses. Amy hates writing in the third person.
