The Nite Show Is Going “On the Road” to the Bangor Opera House!

The Nite Show coming to the Bangor Opera House

Maine’s own late night talk show will tape three shows at historic building to help celebrate Penobscot Theatre Company’s 40th Season

“The Nite Show with Danny Cashman” will take its show on the road for the first time in about a year, bringing the show to the home of the Penobscot Theatre Company. The Nite Show will tape three shows starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, on location at the historic Bangor Opera House.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us,” said Nite Show host Danny Cashman. “We have never done our show in a venue as big as the Bangor Opera House. It will be a new challenge for us. We have some great guests set to join the fun, and we’re excited to see what we can do in a big, historic building, which is possibly even haunted. With any luck, we will make the ghosts laugh along with the audience, and everyone will have a good time.”

Noel Paul Stookey

For the special taping, “The Nite Show” is bringing a fairly impressive guest list together for one night. Cashman will welcome Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul, and Mary fame; comedian George Hamm; and Rustic Overtones will perform a few songs from their latest album “Let’s Start a Cult 2,” which will be released on Nov. 26. In addition, “The Nite Show” will be celebrating and honoring the 40th season of Penobscot Theatre Company and will have a featured number from the Company’s production of “Cinderella,” performed by Dominick Varney, Ben Layman, and Jesse Havea.

“We have never had a full television show taped live at Penobscot Theatre like this,” said Penobscot Theatre Company Artistic Director, Bari Newport. “It’s going to be fun to bring a different audience and a different feel to the theater for the night, and to show the entire state the type of energy and creativity created at Penobscot Theatre right here in Bangor.”

This will mark the fourth time “The Nite Show with Danny Cashman” has taken its show on the road, although it will be the first of those four times the show will be taped in a theater setting. The other “on the road” shows were taped on a moving bus (2011), in a contest winner’s home in Ellsworth (2012), and at the Husson University Student Center (2012).
