Multi-age classroom to be introduced at PTC!

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.”  – Henry Ford

At Penobscot Theater, we believe in the power of learning and imagination. For the first time ever, Dramatic Academy is offering multi-age classes for students from 11+. Both our Spring offerings of Magician’s Workshop and Zumba with Christie will include students spanning from ages eleven to sixty-nine so far! Our spring semester will begin January 5th, and there are only a few spaces left for Magician’s Workshop, so sign up today.  This would be a great opportunity for a grandparent, parent, or older sibling/mentor and a child to take a class together and discover the things we can learn not just from instruction, but from each other.   We hope you will join us for these truly unique opportunities.

For more information or to download a registration form please visit the Education page at our website If you register prior to Jan. 1, you receive $25 off your tuition!

Ethan Schneider to teach Magician's Workshop

Magician’s Workshop:  (Ethan Schneider) January 5th – 26th, Saturdays 10 a.m. – Noon

Students will work our resident magician Ethan Schneider to learn the basics of magic. All materials will be provided. The class will culminate in a public showcase.

During the course, students will learn the basics of magic. In addition to actual magician’s skills, students will explore aspects of presentation, theatricality, and personalization of tricks.  Ethan Schneider has been practicing magic since he was ten and began his professional career at 15 doing stage shows, “walk-arounds”, and children’s birthday parties. Mr. Schneider then toured with the Spencer’s Theatre of Illusion for two years; which is the largest magic touring company in the world.  All students will receive their own “magic kit” that will include everything they need in order to participate in the class.
