The opening night reception for Penobscot Theatre Company’s holiday production Annie is the place to be this Friday night! Following the performance, the lobby will be transformed into a holiday wonderland.  There will be music, hot coco and candy canes for the kids, hot hard apple cider for the grown ups, and a number of new offerings at our concessionaire just for the holiday season. You will even be able to have your chance to pose as Annie or Sandy!

Roving reporter, Sophia Mullins

Our resident roving reporter, Sophia Mullins, will be on hand to do interviews with audience members.  And of course, we have decked out our lobby with wreaths, lights, stockings, and even a Christmas tree on TOP of the theater! Teen Council Members will be on hand to help children get a picture with our special guest……………….SANTA!!!!! That’s right! We hear he will be dropping by to visit and be part of a special photo shoot with c2k photography!

And last but NOT least! We know you will fall in love with out new canine star, Zuzu who plays the role of Sandy.  She is just so cute everyone wants to take her home, and now you can!  We have found the perfect stuffed version of Zuzu and will have them available for sale at our box office. She makes a perfect holiday stocking stuffer!

Director of Education – Amy Roeder is pleased to be joining the staff at PTC. Amy received her BFA in theatre from the University of Evansville and her Master of Fine Arts in acting from The University of Georgia. She recently relocated to Bangor from Chicago where she taught and performed with famed comedy institution The Second City. Local audiences may have seen her onstage with Improv Acadia in Bar Harbor where she has been a company member since 2005. Amy has performed all over the country including at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park and with the Improv Asylum in Boston. In addition to teaching acting and improvisation classes all over the world, Amy is also designs and facilitates workshops in improvisational techniques for businesses. Amy hates writing in the third person.
