PTC Dramatic Academy Students get Political this Friday for Election Season!

As part of a national festival, students will perform 44 Plays for 44 Presidents.Throughout the nation, 44 theater organizations will perform the play including Penobscot Theatre’s Dramatic Academy students. 44Plays for 44 Presidents is a 2-hour show comprised of short, biographical scenes highlighting the lives of all the American presidents. Their mistakes and successes are celebrated by a company of young actors who take turns donning a star-production will become part of the Plays for Presidents Festival in conjunction with the famous ROCK THE VOTE campaign. In addition to this, PTC’s Dramatic Academy students will participate in the 44 Plays Video project. A portion of PTC’s production will be filmed, edited, and then included in a nation-wide movie to be released on October 30th! This part of the video will premiere at the Bangor Opera House at 8 p.m. that night.

In order to engage the community and share the work of these young actors, Dramatic Academy students will hit the road with excerpts from the show! At 4 p.m., these young thespians will perform scenes from the play for those standing in line at the poles at Brewer Auditorium.  Don’t miss your chance to see our past Presidents represented through various styles of theater including, mime, musical theater, and dance!

44 Plays for 44 Presidents will be performed November 2nd and 3rd at 6 p.m. in the Bangor Opera House Rehearsal room. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults. Tickets can be reserved by calling our Box Office at 942-3333 or purchased at the door. All tickets are general seating. Excerpts of the performance will also be presented at the polls at Brewer Auditorium November 6th beginning at 4 p.m.
