Penobscot Theatre Youth Performers to Participate in National Festival! Sign up Today!

Penobscot Theatre’s Tiny Thespians and Youth Troupe will get political this fall!  As part of a national festival, students will perform 44 Plays for 44 Presidents.  Young performers from ages 4 to 15 are eligible to sign up for our fall semester dramatic academy youth classes in order to participate in this exciting event. Students will study acting with Director Ben Layman and music with Musical Director Stephanie Colavito.  Several performances will take place at the Bangor Opera House and a special presentation of excerpts of the play will be held at Brewer Auditorium on Election Day!  In addition to local performances, this production will become part of the Plays for Presidents Festival in conjunction with the famous ROCK THE VOTE campaign.  A portion of PTC’s production will be filmed, edited, and then included in a nation-wide movie to be released on Election Day.

Tiny Thespians: (Ben Layman) Ages 4 – 9 Saturdays 10 – 11 a.m.  Our youngest students will focus on theater fundamentals including voice, movement, ensemble building and memorization to create an original piece of patriotic theater that will accompany the Youth Troupe presentation of 44 Plays for Presidents.  Performances  Nov. 2, 3, &6.

 

Youth Troupe: (Ben Layman) Ages 10+  Tues. 3:30 – 5:30 p.m./Sat. 11 a.m.- 1p.m.  This group will study in a master class environment, working toward a final production of 44 Plays for Presidents.  Performances Nov. 2,3,& 6!
