Penobscot Theatre is committed to providing the community with rich theatrical experiences and providing exciting opportunities in the arts. For the past two years, we have organized our annual trip to New York City to enrich and inform our audience members. We are getting ready to hit the road again this year, but with a new destination! This year, Artistic Director Bari Newport invites you to join us on a trip to Atlanta, Georgia!
Prior to Bari’s arrival, she served as an artistic associate for the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Drawing on that resource, Penobscot Theatre will curate the “Arts Weekend in the South.” It seems somehow serendipitous that we have this new connection with the Alliance Theatre. Bari’s final project with this organization was working on the development of a new musical titled, “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County” with a book written by none other than our own Stephen King! With so many pieces falling into place, it seemed intuitive that we provide the opportunity for our theater family to attend the world premiere of this new work.
Below you will find all of the information about PTC’s Arts Weekend in the South. There are a limited number of openings for this trip, so sign up soon! We hope you become as excited as we are to expand our artistic explorations….and go someplace warm!
